Every once in a while there is an idea so original, so powerful and so compelling that it changes the world. At United Way, we believe that there is an idea like that. A vision of communities coming together to solve local community problems. Where the notion of advancing the common good prevails. Where people put aside their differences and move as one. We call it LIVING UNITED.
The United Way Association of South Carolina is the common voice of the 28 independent, locally-governed United Ways in the Palmetto State working together to create long-lasting opportunities for everyone to have a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health.
That's why our work is focused on the building blocks for a good life:
- Education - Helping Children and Youth Achieve Their Potential
- Income - Promoting Financial Stability and Independence
- Health - Improving People's Health
Advancing the common good is about helping one person at a time and about changing systems to help the entire community. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable, and when people are healthy.
Our goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of these problems. Living United means being a part of the change. It takes everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future. Give. Advocate. Volunteer. LIVE UNITED.
