Rita Pratte, External Affairs and Disaster Services Manager, joined the team in 2018 to serve the as the Disaster Resilience Specialist. Her work focused on preparing programs, developing emergency response plans for the United Way Association, bolstering relationships with other Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, and responding to active storms. She also traveled to support both the Puerto Rico and Nebraska Service Commissions in hurricane and flood response and recovery. Today she implements all marketing and communication initiatives, facilitates special events in support of CNCS required days of service, as well as serving as the lead in all disaster preparedness and response efforts as liaison between Emergency Management and CNCS. As an AmeriCorps Alum, her passion for this work is intrinsic and comes each day with a "can do" attitude. In her free time, Rita enjoys biking, yoga, and trying new things (mostly new restaurants).
