Director, South Carolina Service Commission
Carson Carroll, Director of the South Carolina Service Commission began her work with the Commission in 2014. In her first role, she created a statewide VISTA program focused on financial stability. On the path to her current role, she has held several positions within the Commission- which had duties varying from Disaster Response activation, to writing the State Service Plan, and running our internal giving campaign to benefit the United Way of the Midlands. Immediately prior to her time with the Commission, she was an AmeriCorps Member in Charleston, SC with Trident United Way's Financial Stability Program.
In college, she knew that she wanted to spend her life in the pursuit of improving the world around her, but was not tied to one particular path or topic to achieve that goal. She pursued two degrees (Psychology BA, Sociology BA) while attending Clemson University in hopes to learn more about the ways that people interact with themselves and the world around them. That choice has paid off, as her current position covers a wide variety of disciplines.
Carson is a native of South Carolina who loves being outdoors, listening to podcasts, and is often learning a new craft.
